RACGP SA&NT continued to advocate for members and work with key stakeholders. These advocacy efforts included input into deliberations on medicinal use of cannabis and scheduling of codeine, mental health strategic plans and health submissions to local ministers.
Highlights for 2017–18:
- We delivered education through 50 workshops, which attracted more than 900 participants and included a sports medicine ground rounds.
- Two South Australian GPs were recognised as RACGP award winners: Dr Amanda Bethell received the 2017 General Practitioner of the Year award, and Dr Adelaide Boylan was chosen as the 2017 General Practice Registrar of the Year.
- We celebrated the largest ever South Australian and Northern Territory Fellowship and Awards Ceremonies: 93 South Australian new Fellows were joined by 405 guests for their award ceremony, and 20 Northern Territory members celebrated new Fellowship with 90 guests.
- RACGP SA&NT began hosting a series of webinars as we expand our education platform to local and rural members.
